Kyrgyz citizens should be given priority for jobs on construction sites — Tashiev

During a working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, Kamchybek Tashiev, head of the State Committee for National Security, called on construction companies to hire local residents, especially those who have returned from migration.

“Many of our migrants are now returning from Russia. Let's give them jobs. There is no need to bring in workers from Pakistan or Bangladesh just because they are supposedly cheaper or work better. Even if we have to pay our people a little more or they work a little slower, hire Kyrgyz citizens,” he said.

According to Kamchybek Tashiev, it is important to support those citizens who cannot find work locally.

He also instructed the staff of the Internal Affairs Department to more actively check construction sites for illegal migrants — to monitor the availability of visas, employment contracts, and compliance with the law.

“Everything must be within the law,” the head of the State Committee for National Security emphasized.

Currently, about 150 people are working at one of the construction sites in the region. If construction of another site begins, an additional 150 Kyrgyz citizens will be able to get jobs.
