06/05/2025, 11:54President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a law on amendments to the Law “On Local State Administration and Local Self-Government Bodies”. The document was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on April 30, 2025.
The law expands the list of issues of local importance: now they will include activities aimed at strengthening social cohesion and preventing social tension in society.
Social cohesion is understood as a state in which society maintains mutual trust and respect between citizens, as well as interaction between different social, cultural and ethnic groups.
The amendments are aimed at establishing a legal framework for the prevention and resolution of conflicts at the level of local communities.
The law comes into force ten days after its official publication.
