Record growth in trade in Kyrgyzstan in 2024

In 2024, the total turnover of wholesale and retail trade, repair of cars and motorcycles in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.78 trillion KGS, an increase of 23.4% compared to 2023 and twice as much as in 2020. This is stated in the latest report published by the National Statistics Committee.

Wholesale trade made the largest contribution, accounting for 50.2% of the total, while retail trade, excluding cars, motorcycles and motor fuel, accounted for 37.1%.

Retail trade turnover in 2024 reached 660 billion KGS, showing a 37.1% increase over the previous year and a 1.6-fold increase since 2020. Wholesale trade amounted to 892.7 billion KGS, which is 34% more than in 2023 and 2.6 times higher than in 2020.

Particular attention should be paid to trade in motor vehicles and accessories, which amounted to 60.1 billion KGS, an increase of 21.5% over the year and 3.3 times higher than in 2020. Motor vehicle maintenance and repair services amounted to 6.9 billion KGS, an increase of 23.3%.

    The number of operating enterprises with foreign capital participation in Kyrgyzstan has increased sharply over the year. According to the Kyrgyz Republic Statistical Yearbook for 2025, in 2024 their number reached 5,724, compared to 4,264 a year earlier. Almost three-quarters of them are companies with full foreign capital participation, their number increased from 3,072 to 4,212.
