07/23/2026, 17:33In Bishkek, as part of the 2026 road repair programme, work has been completed on 46 road infrastructure projects, according to the city council.
This year, repairs are planned for 127 streets, as well as the refurbishment of pavements on 29 streets. To date, work has begun on 119 projects, of which 33 sections of road and 13 sections of pavement have been fully completed.
Among the completed projects are sections of Zhayila Baatyra, Riga, Delbirim, Kozhevennaya, Mozhaisky, Usenbaev, Herzen, Lev Tolstoy and Shirokaya streets, as well as roads in the ‘Ak-Bosogo’, ‘Zhenish’, ‘Kyrk-Kyz’ and other districts of the capital.
In addition, repairs have been completed on a number of inner-courtyard areas, including the courtyards of buildings in the ‘Vostok-5’, 5th and 6th microdistricts, as well as on Chuy Avenue and Shabdan Baatyra Avenue.
Work to refurbish pavements has been completed on 13 sections, including Manas Avenue, Zhibek Zholu Avenue, and Moskovskaya, Kuttubaeva, Midina and Kokchetavskaya Streets, amongst others.
The city council noted that contractors had been reminded of the need to comply with quality standards and meet deadlines. In the event of failure to fulfil their obligations, companies may be included in the register of unscrupulous suppliers and restricted from future participation in municipal procurement.
