07/23/2026, 17:47The harvest is continuing in Kyrgyzstan. As of 23 July, 31 per cent of the country’s cereal crop area had been harvested, according to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry.
The progress of the harvest was discussed at a departmental meeting chaired by Minister Erlist Akunbekov. Participants considered issues relating to the timely completion of the harvest and the provision of organisational and technical support to agricultural producers.
In addition, the meeting reviewed the work of the Service for Veterinary Affairs, Livestock Development, Pastures and Fodder for the first half of 2026.
The ministry noted that preventive and veterinary-sanitary measures are continuing to be implemented to maintain a stable epizootic situation.
It was also reported that the roll-out of digital solutions in the veterinary sector is continuing. In particular, the issuance of electronic veterinary accompanying documents has been launched via the ‘Tulpar’ information system, which is integrated with the Russian ‘Mercury’ system.
The Minister has instructed that efforts be stepped up to ensure the rational use of pastureland, control weeds and implement the ‘Organised Field’ project. Particular attention will be paid to improving the effectiveness of preferential lending programmes for agricultural producers.
The heads of departmental units have been instructed to ensure the high-quality fulfilment of the tasks set, to speed up the harvest campaign and to step up support for farmers.
