01/30/2026, 12:11Kyrgyzstan's customs revenues have grown almost sixfold over the past five years, from 28 billion KGS in 2020 to 157.4 billion KGS by the end of 2025. This was announced by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev at a meeting of the State Customs Service.
According to him, such rapid growth was the result of large-scale digitalization of the customs system and the introduction of the national platform “Smart Bazhy.” It has reduced losses, increased the transparency of procedures, and minimized the influence of the human factor.
“If we had not carried out digitalization in time, there would have been serious gaps in the system,” the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
Today, customs payments account for more than a quarter of the republic's budget revenues, while the workload on customs officials has increased significantly in recent years. While 113,000 declarations were processed in 2021, their number exceeded 873,000 in 2025. The increase in volume was achieved without expanding the staff, thanks to automation and the transition to digital solutions.
The introduction of a risk-based and analytical approach in law enforcement played an additional role in improving efficiency, allowing for more accurate detection of customs violations.
At the end of the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliyev instructed the GTS to ensure the implementation of the customs payments plan for 2026 in the amount of 142.6 billion KGS, as well as to continue the implementation of the Concept for the Development of the Customs Service for 2026-2030.
