05/23/2025, 13:29Responsible employees of the religious administration systematically extorted money from mosque and madrasa workers. These extortions caused discontent among believers and undermined trust in state authorities. This was reported by the State Committee for National Security (SCNS).
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the employees of the kazyata. With the permission of the court, searches were carried out at the homes and workplaces of several employees. As a result, investigators found evidence of illegal collection of money. Two suspects, with the initials T.M.B. and M.Z.M., have been detained and placed in a temporary detention centre.
The investigation is ongoing. The State Committee for National Security emphasised that such actions undermine trust within the Muslim community. The agency called on the clergy not to turn a blind eye to such cases and to observe the norms of traditional Islam.
