06/26/2025, 13:48Since the beginning of the year, the National Electricity Network of Kyrgyzstan (NENK) has installed 200.1 thousand smart meters for household subscribers. The project is implemented within the framework of the Ministry of Energy reform with the support of the World Bank.
The meters record electricity consumption online, help identify technical problems and cases of unauthorized connection, and generate accurate data for calculations. Consumers can monitor and manage their electricity consumption through digital interfaces.
It is planned to install about 300 thousand more devices by the end of the year. The work is being carried out throughout the country, including remote settlements.
The project is being implemented in stages, in cooperation with government agencies, local authorities and partners. Information campaigns are also being conducted to explain how to use the new devices.
