Sabotage of pricing policy in the coal market will be subject to criminal prosecution — SCNS

The State Committee for National Security warned against artificially inflating coal prices in the Osh region. This was discussed on December 17 at a meeting organized by the State Committee with representatives of coal mining companies, fuel depot owners, and end sellers.

The meeting was also attended by investors from Kyrgyzkumur OJSC and employees of local authorities in the city of Osh and the Osh region. The main topic of discussion was the situation with the supply of solid fuel to the region's population and the mechanism for setting coal prices, which is causing social tension.

As emphasized by representatives of the State Committee for National Security, market participants were informed of the inadmissibility of manipulating public opinion by artificially raising coal prices. The agency pointed out that such actions go beyond the legal framework and undermine social stability in the region.

In turn, coal mining entrepreneurs raised the issue of allocating land plots for the construction of fuel depots in the autumn-winter period. According to them, they are ready to independently finance the organization and construction of such facilities. As noted at the meeting, resolving this issue will reduce costs, including intermediary services and transportation, which will lower the final price of coal.

Following the meeting, participants were informed that the issue of transforming land plots in the city of Osh and the Osh region for the construction of fuel depots will be considered after the end of the 2025-2026 heating season. Until then, entrepreneurs are recommended to reduce current coal prices until the end of this year, to which, as noted, they agreed.

The SCNS emphasized that any attempts to deliberately sabotage the pricing policy in the coal market that go beyond the requirements of the law will be considered under criminal law.
