The service sector in Kyrgyzstan is growing: its share of GDP has increased

Significant changes have occurred in the structure of Kyrgyzstan’s GDP over the past five years. In 2024, the share of the service sector reached 52.3%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points compared to 2020.

The wholesale and retail trade segments, as well as automobile and motorcycle repair, saw particularly strong growth—their combined share increased by 2.8 percentage points. Financial intermediation and insurance grew by 2.5 percentage points, while hotels and restaurants increased by 1.1 percentage points.

Experts note that the growth of the service sector reflects changing consumer habits and the development of the domestic market, and is gradually increasing the sector’s contribution to the country’s economy.
