Fines for illegal movement of goods across the border increased to 100,000 KGS for legal entities

The State Tax Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has reminded of new fines for illegal movement of goods and vehicles across the borders of the EAEU countries. The change came into force on 31 December 2025.

According to the amendments to the Kyrgyz Code of Offences, the liability for the illegal import of goods and vehicles across the border has been increased. The fines for individuals have increased from 10,000 KGS to 20,000 KGS, and for legal entities from 28,000 KGS to 65,000 KGS.

In the event of a repeat offence within a year, the fines increase even more: for individuals to 40,000 KGS, and for legal entities to 100,000 KGS. In addition, the law provides for the possibility of confiscation of goods.

The State Tax Service notes that at the Ak-Zhol section on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, there has been an increase in cases of goods being imported without documents in order to avoid control procedures. The most frequent attempts to import cosmetics, biologically active supplements, medicines, tobacco products, mobile phones, vapes and electronic cigarettes have been recorded.
