According to official data from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, the US dollar remained stable throughout 2025, hovering around 87.4500 KGS for most of the year. The lowest value for the year was 85.6093 KGS per dollar, recorded on 20 March 2025.
Statistics show that in the Kyrgyz economy, settlements and trade are most often conducted in US dollars, so the US currency exchange rate has a significant impact on prices and inflation.
The Eurasian Development Bank's macroeconomic forecast for 2026–2028 indicates that in 2026, the national currency will average 89.2 KGS per US dollar. According to EDB analysts, exchange rate stability will be supported by continued growth in remittances to the country.
In the medium term, according to the forecast, the nominal exchange rate may weaken slightly due to the difference in inflation rates between the Kyrgyz Republic and abroad.
