Citizens who have not paid contributions to the Social Fund will not be able to receive a pension

Citizens who have not paid insurance contributions to the Social Fund will not be able to retire in future. Zhenishbek Mukambetov, Head of the Public Relations Department at the Social Fund, announced this during a broadcast on ‘Birinchi Radio’.

According to him, the Social Fund is approached by citizens who have not paid their insurance contributions but nevertheless wish to receive a pension. He noted that when the Social Fund is mentioned, citizens should first and foremost consider their length of service. It is impossible to receive a pension from the Social Fund without a record of service.

Mukambetov noted that mothers with many children, who have not been officially employed and therefore have no length of service, also apply for a pension.

“Many people apply to the Social Fund for a pension because they have seven children. Unfortunately, the Social Fund does not grant pensions to citizens without a length of service”,  - he said.

At the same time, Mukambetov explained that if a citizen has paid insurance contributions to the Social Fund for at least one year, then periods during which they did not pay contributions — for example, whilst staying at home with their children or studying at an educational institution — may also count towards their length of service. In such cases, the citizen will be eligible to retire.

He emphasised that it is incorrect to apply for a pension without ever having paid contributions to the Social Fund.
