The cost of building the ‘Bishkek Arena’ has not yet been determined

Askat Alagozov, press secretary to the President of Kyrgyzstan, stated that information circulating on social media regarding the construction of the ‘Bishkek Arena’ complex for $60 million is untrue.

According to him, no state body has officially stated that the stadium was built for $60 million. Alagozov noted that a special commission has now been set up to verify all the costs associated with the construction of the facility. The commission comprises representatives from the Chamber of Auditors, the Ministry of the Interior, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and other state bodies.

The commission’s work is expected to take 1–2 months. Following a detailed examination of the expenditure, the exact and final cost of constructing the ‘Bishkek Arena’ will be made public. Alagozov also called on members of the public and bloggers not to circulate unverified figures, including claims that the facility was built more cheaply than similar stadiums in neighbouring countries.

Kyrgyzstan’s state budget revenue in the first half of 2026 rose by 48.8 per cent compared with the same period last year. According to data from the Central Treasury of the Ministry of Finance, they amounted to 455.5 billion KGS.
