09/30/2025, 12:24The Ministry of Energy reports that the construction of the Karakul Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), implemented by Chakan HPP OJSC, is already 90% complete and has entered its final stage.
The main construction work has been completed:
Final work is now underway on the installation of relay protection devices, automation and 10 kV cable lines. All work is being carried out in accordance with the investment agreement schedule.
For reference, the design capacity of the Karakul HPP is 18 MW, with an average annual electricity generation of 110 million kWh. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of this year.
The construction of the Karakul HPP is part of the government's policy to develop renewable energy sources and support strategically important energy projects that will strengthen the country's energy security.
