According to the information presented, the two operational units have generated approximately 10 billion kWh of electricity since they began operations.
Once construction is fully completed, the Rogun Hydroelectric Power Plant will be able to produce approximately 14.4 billion kWh of electricity annually. This is expected to strengthen the country’s energy security and expand opportunities for electricity exports to neighboring countries.
At the same time, Tajikistan plans to develop solar energy. Specifically, the country is considering projects to build solar power plants with a total capacity of at least 2,000 MW.
As part of regional cooperation, there are also plans to continue work on the rational use of water resources and adaptation to climate change. The UN Conference on Water Resources is scheduled to be held in Dushanbe in 2028.
