The buy-back price of an ounce of gold in Kyrgyzstan has risen by more than 9,600 KGS over the past week

The price of a standard gold bar weighing 31.1035 grams, or one troy ounce, in Kyrgyzstan has risen significantly over the past week. This is according to data from the National Bank.

On 14 August, the buy-back price for one ounce stood at 384,557 KGS, whilst the selling price was 390,325.50 KGS.

By 21 August, the buy-back price had reached 394,168 KGS, and the selling price 400,081 KGS.

Thus, over the course of the week, the buy-back price per ounce rose by 9,611KGS, or 2.5 per cent. The selling price increased by 9,755.5 KGS, also by approximately 2.5 per cent.

However, the rise was uneven. On 17 August, the buy-back price stood at 386,105 KGS; on 18 August, it was 387,425.5 KGS. On 19 August, the figure fell slightly to 387,224.5 KGS.
The following day, the price per ounce rose sharply to 392,226.5 KGS, and on 21 August it reached a new high of 394,168 KGS.

The selling price over the same period rose from 390,325.5 to 400,081 KGS.

Thus, over the course of the week, the selling price of an ounce of gold exceeded the 400,000 som mark for the first time during the period under review.
