03/04/2025, 17:33As of 4 March 2025, Bishkek recorded an increase in the average price of petrol compared to February. According to the National Statistics Committee, the average price of AI-95 increased by 1.3%, and AI-92 increased by 0.9%.
Interestingly, at the beginning of this year, the cost of petrol in Kyrgyzstan showed some decline. In January, prices for AI-95 and AI-92 decreased by a few KGS, and a month later, in February, a new wave of growth began. In February, the price of AI-95 rose from KGS 71.46 to KGS 72.33, and for AI-92 from KGS 62.19 to KGS 63.61.
Since the beginning of 2025, Kyrgyzstan has abolished the transport tax and instead introduced a levy of KGS 1 for each litre of gasoline. According to Deputy Transport Minister Beknazar Bazaraliyev, since January of this year, the budget has received KGS 172 million as part of this new source of funding.
