More than 4,668 organisations (over 31% of the total) had local area networks (LANs). The largest share of such networks — 41% — belongs to educational institutions, 8.9% to trade organisations, and 8.1% to government, defence and social security institutions.
Email became most widespread in the capital. Thus, 4,738 enterprises in Bishkek (42.2% of the total number of organisations with email) used corporate email services, while the lowest representation was noted in the Naryn region – 314 organisations (2.8%).
The number of specialised software programs by type of economic activity is also concentrated in Bishkek, with 8,470 units, or 70% of the total, while the Naryn region has only 167 units (1.4%).
At the end of 2024, there were about 120,000 personal computers in the republic, of which 38.1% were used in educational institutions. Educational institutions also used 27,500 units of office equipment, which is 8.2% more than in 2023 and 23.3 times more than in 2020.
Experts note that the growth of digitalisation is particularly noticeable in the field of education, which creates conditions for the introduction of modern teaching methods and increases the efficiency of institutions.
