Grain harvest: wheat shows best results in terms of gross yield

The grain harvest in 2025 continues across the republic. As of July 28, 2025, 264,300 hectares of the total grain crop area of 677,700 hectares have been harvested, which is 39%. This is 13,300 hectares more than in the same period of 2024.

Of the 247,600 hectares of wheat, 145,600 hectares have been harvested, which is 58.8%. The gross harvest amounted to 286,800 tons.
It should be noted that this year the volume of barley planted exceeds the volume of wheat planted, with a total of 249,300 hectares planted and 145,600 hectares harvested. However, despite this, its gross harvest is significantly lower — 188,700 tons.

Corn, legumes, and other grain crops have not yet been harvested.

In addition, the harvesting of vegetables, melons, and potatoes continues in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken regions. Specifically:

    • Potatoes – early varieties have been harvested from 6,150 hectares, with a gross harvest of 96,800 tons. The average yield is 158.2 centners per hectare. It should be noted that in 2025, the total area under potatoes is 64,600 hectares.
    • Melons – 3,350 hectares have been harvested out of 11,740 hectares, with a gross harvest of 86,500 tons.
