07/23/2025, 10:49In 2024, grape production in Kyrgyzstan increased significantly. The total harvest amounted to 1,530 tons, which is 18.5% more than last year. The average yield per hectare also increased by almost 20% and reached 23.2 centners.
To further develop viticulture, 60,000 grape seedlings were imported from Serbia to Kyrgyzstan in January–May 2025. All of them underwent strict quarantine control and were selected from virus- and disease-resistant varieties.
Particular attention is being paid to the development of the industry in the Batken region, especially in the Leilek district. Here, two cooperatives are engaged in the cultivation of different grape varieties: Dostuk Kadyrbek cultivates the Avatar variety, while Eldik Tushum Zhan-Zher cultivates the Kishmish variety. In addition, a new nursery is being created that will specialize in growing several varieties of seedlings: Avatar, Manicure Finger, and Kishmish.
All these measures are aimed at providing farmers with high-quality planting material and ensuring the stable development of viticulture in the country.
