The ministry proposes introducing a mechanism for state regulation of profitability to curb price increases for goods and services, especially in sectors with a dominant market position.
This was prompted by numerous consumer complaints about excessive prices in the digital sector, ranging from online services to marketplaces and taxis, as well as farmers' dissatisfaction with the decline in milk purchase prices amid rising production. The bill proposes limiting profitability to no more than 25% of production costs and regulating purchase prices for agricultural products.
The plan is to gather opinions from interested parties by July 25. The Ministry of Economy emphasizes that the introduction of new regulations will not entail additional costs for businesses or the budget. Proposals can be sent by email or post to the address indicated in the notification.
