07/19/2026, 12:17In the first five months of 2026, imports of sweetened non-alcoholic drinks into Kyrgyzstan rose by more than 34 per cent in monetary terms. The most rapid growth in supplies came from Uzbekistan, which quadrupled its exports. This is according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
Between January and May, Kyrgyzstan imported 119.1 million litres of sweetened non-alcoholic beverages worth $63.6 million. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports rose by 21.2 per cent, whilst the value increased by almost 34 per cent.
Kazakhstan remains the largest supplier. Kyrgyzstan imported 57 million litres of drinks from its neighbour, worth 2.59 billion som. However, compared with last year, the volume of imports fell by 20 per cent.
Uzbekistan took second place, supplying 46.3 million litres of products worth 1.84 billion som. Over the year, the volume of supplies increased 4.1-fold, whilst the value rose more than 4.2-fold.
Russia ranked third in terms of import volume, with 11.3 million litres worth 746.6 million soms. Despite an 11.9 per cent decline in physical volumes, the value of supplies rose by 22 per cent.
In the period from January to May 2025, Kyrgyzstan imported around 98.3 million litres of sweetened non-alcoholic beverages, worth 4.15 billion soms. Over the year, the market grew by more than a fifth in volume terms and by almost a third in value terms.
