In 2025, nearly 6 tonnes of previously unaccounted-for gold were discovered in Kyrgyzstan

Over the first nine months of this year, geological exploration has enabled the country to significantly increase its reserves of precious metals and minerals.

According to official data, at the beginning of the year, the country's base reserves of gold stood at 973 tonnes, with 7.4 tonnes of placer gold. Between January and September, geological explorers discovered an additional 5.8 tonnes of gold and 56.8 kilograms of placer gold.

The new data also shows an increase in reserves in other areas:

  • silver — by 3.7 tonnes (as of 1 January, there were 1.1 thousand tonnes);
  • copper — by 6.4 thousand tonnes (there were 960.4 thousand tonnes);
  • lead — by 101 thousand tonnes (there were 47.7 thousand tonnes);
  • zinc — by 11 thousand tonnes (there were 32.1 thousand tonnes).

Among non-metallic resources, there was an increase of 9 million tonnes in coal, 127 thousand tonnes in kaolin, and 1.4 million tonnes in gypsum.
