In 2026, more than 42 billion KGS will be allocated to finance agriculture

In 2026, more than 42 billion KGS will be allocated to support the agro-industrial complex. This was announced today, February 11, by Bakyt Torobaev, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, at the Jogorku Kenesh, while providing information on preparations for spring field work.

According to the minister, in order to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of spring field work and to support aggregators and farmers, the Cabinet of Ministers is implementing a number of state projects and state investment programs.

These include: “FSK-14,” “KAPK,” “FOTP-2,” “Development of Asyl-Tukum Breeding Farms,” “Development of Seed Nurseries,” “Development of the Meat Cluster in the Chui Region and Bishkek,” and “Improvement of Water Conservation Technologies.”

The projects are implemented through several financial institutions: the Asian Development Bank (ADB) – “Development of an additional value chain in climate-resilient agriculture,” the World Bank – “Sustainable development of agri-food clusters,” “ADAPT – sustainability of territorial pastoral communities,” Regional Economic Development Program, Social Partnership Fund for Regional Development, and KOICA – Strengthening the agricultural value chain through support for post-harvest yield management systems in Kyrgyzstan.

Minister Bakyt Torobaev noted that, in connection with President Sadyr Zhaparov's special attention to agriculture, the following funds are allocated for the agro-industrial complex for 2026: 6 billion KGS from the republican budget, 1.5 billion KGS from a special account, and 11 billion soms from the state investment project (PGI) — 11 billion KGS (irrigation, clean water, CCA, ORSP). Also, through capital investments — 14.3 billion KGS (irrigation, clean water, veterinary laboratories) and within the framework of 7 state support projects — 9.3 billion KGS.

The total amount of funding exceeds 42 billion KGS and is aimed at developing agriculture.

The minister noted that these funding measures are aimed at supporting farmers and aggregators, improving irrigation infrastructure, and ensuring the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex.
