Customs laboratories for imported jewelry to open at airports in Kyrgyzstan

Laboratories for testing imported jewelry will be opened at Kyrgyz airports. This was announced by Almamet Shykmamatov, chairman of the State Tax Service, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to him, jewelers are currently forced to deliver imported goods to special buildings and wait in line to undergo the testing procedure.

"Taking into account the experience of developed countries, in order to simplify this process, the possibility of testing jewelry directly at airports upon import is being considered. In this regard, instructions have been given to set up special laboratories for hallmarking at Tamchy, Osh, and Bishkek airports," Shykmamatov said.

Work is currently underway in this area. Once the project is implemented, modern laboratories capable of hallmarking will begin operating at the aforementioned airports.

This will save jewelers time and eliminate unnecessary procedures, as well as contribute to the development of the jewelry industry, improve the business environment, and increase the transparency of the industry.
