In Bishkek, victims of a fire were presented with insurance certificates worth 8 million KGS

Today, a ceremony was held at the Bishkek City Hall to present insurance certificates to residents whose apartments were damaged in the fire. 

The certificates were presented by the mayor of the city, Aibek Junushaliyev, and the director of the Bishkek branch of the State Insurance Organisation, Alima Nurlanova.

Eight citizens received payments, each of whom was given 1 million KGS, totalling 8 million KGS.

The mayor emphasised the importance of property insurance:

‘Disaster strikes without warning. The natural disaster affected 68 flats, but only eight of them were insured. We have set ourselves the task of ensuring that 100% of property is insured and we urge all residents of the city to do so.’

In addition to insurance payments, the city council provided financial assistance to residents of 22 other affected flats, taking timely support measures.

The fire occurred on 15 November 2025 at 16 Ch. Aitmatov Avenue. The area affected by the fire was approximately 800 square metres.
