03/16/2026, 15:58In 2026, Bishkek plans to repair 298 transformers with a voltage of 6–10/0.4 kV and install a further 38 new ones. The work will be carried out from March to November to improve the quality of the electricity supply and balance the load on the city’s networks.
The repair and replacement of equipment is being funded by OJSC ‘KUET’ and carried out by the Bishkek Electric Networks Company. As part of the work, specialists will check the technical condition of the transformers, replace worn parts and carry out necessary maintenance.
The new transformers will improve the reliability of electricity transmission and the stability of supply to consumers. Repairs will be carried out in the following areas of the electricity networks:
In total, the Bishkek Electricity Network Company has 2,248 transformers on its books, and by the end of the year it plans to have carried out maintenance and repair work on all of them.
