The incident was recorded during a raid conducted by the Regional Administration for the City of Bishkek and the Alamudun District of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service.
According to the agency, at the intersection of the bypass road and the highway towards HPP-5, an overflowing septic tank belonging to a KFC restaurant was discovered. The wastewater was not pumped out in a timely manner, which led to its spillage beyond the sanitary zone.
A report was drawn up on the spot under Article 237 of the Kyrgyz Republic's Code of Offences. Administrative measures were taken against the establishment, including a fine of 65,000 soms. Under the supervision of inspectors, the septic tank was cleaned and the consequences of the violation were eliminated.
The Environmental and Technical Supervision Service emphasized that such raids will be carried out on a regular basis to prevent environmental damage and increase the responsibility of legal entities for compliance with environmental standards.
