Another section of Frunze Street in Bishkek to be closed from 11 July

From 11 July, a section of Frunze Street in Bishkek, running from Ibraimov to Shopokov, will be closed to traffic. The restrictions are due to major road repairs.

The closure will mark the next stage in the rehabilitation of the capital’s road network. Work had previously begun on the section of Frunze Street between Suyumbayev and Ibraimov. During the works, contractors will remove the old asphalt surface, reinforce the road sub-base, lay new asphalt and upgrade elements of the road infrastructure.

According to Bishkek City Council, closing the street in stages will minimise disruption to motorists and avoid a complete closure of the main road.

Drivers and pedestrians are asked to plan their routes in advance and take into account temporary changes to traffic management.
