740 trees planted in Bishkek in a single day — how many does the city council plan to plant in total?

As part of a community clean-up day, 740 trees were planted in Bishkek, whilst the overall target for 2026 exceeds 20,000.

A mass tree-planting event took place in Bishkek, attended by Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev and the head of the city council, Bekzhan Usenaliyev.

The work took place in Adinay Park (200 trees) and Fuchik Park (a further 200 or so), as well as in other parts of the city. A total of 740 trees were planted in a single day. Since the start of the spring campaign, the total has already exceeded 7,600.

Greening efforts in the capital are being stepped up against a backdrop of environmental and air quality issues.

Bishkek City Council plans to plant more than 20,000 trees in 2026, continuing its annual campaigns to expand green spaces.
