01/22/2026, 16:35Today, 22 January, a tariff concession on the import of electric vehicles came into effect in the Eurasian Economic Union, according to a document signed at the 2025 EAEU Intergovernmental Council. This also affected Kyrgyzstan, and in this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for distributing tariff concessions on the import of electric vehicles.
According to the resolution, the State Customs Service will issue an official document for obtaining the tariff concession. It will contain information about the person importing the electric vehicles, the number of vehicles and their cost. This refers to motor vehicles with electric motors.
The Customs Service is instructed to follow the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 111 of 5 December 2025, as well as to approve its own procedure for issuing the relevant documents. At the same time, the deadline for their processing is limited to no later than three calendar days from the date of submission of the application by the importer.
According to the Intergovernmental Council document, 15,000 ‘pure electric’ and ‘series hybrid’ vehicles are planned to be imported into Kyrgyzstan. Armenia will also import 15,000 electric vehicles, and Belarus will import about 20,000 electric vehicles.
