08/25/2025, 15:07In the first half of 2025, Kyrgyzstan was the only country in the Eurasian Economic Union to end the year with a budget surplus. This is according to data from the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to the results of January–June, the revenues of the Kyrgyz republican budget amounted to 278.9 billion KGS ($3.2 billion), while expenditures amounted to 224.8 billion KGS ($2.6 billion). The surplus reached 54 billion soms, or $600 million, which is 1.8 times higher than the level of the same period last year (30 billion soms, or $300 million).
In other countries of the union, the dynamics were less favorable. In Armenia, the surplus turned into a deficit of $100 million. Kazakhstan reduced its deficit by 19% to $3 billion. In Russia, the negative balance grew 4.4 times to $51.2 billion.
