These figures are reflected in the report on the monitoring of law enforcement practices presented at a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Intellectual Property under the EEC Board.
EEC Minister of Economy and Financial Policy Bakhyt Sultanov noted that the most frequently counterfeited goods are everyday items: clothing, footwear, household appliances, auto parts, perfumes and cosmetics.
During the meeting, initiatives in the field of intellectual property protection were discussed, including measures to curb violations on the Internet, the launch of a search service to check industrial property objects, and the creation of a unified customs register of IP objects.
In addition, proposals were considered on the introduction of a system for registering trademarks and appellations of origin of EAEU goods, as well as on establishing electronic information exchange between customs authorities and rights holders.
All measures are part of the plan to implement the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Integration until 2025, which aims to create a secure and transparent business environment.
