A logistics centre for agriculture is to be established in Emgekchil

On 25 March 2026, Erlist Akunbekov, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, inspected the condition of a former civil defence facility in the village of Emgekchil, At-Bashin District, Naryn Region. The building, with a total area of 10,000 square metres, was constructed between 1987 and 1989 and designed to accommodate 640 people; however, some of the premises are in a state of disrepair.

Previously, the facility’s equipment had been moved to the town of Balykchy, and the facility had not been used for a long time. Currently, on the initiative of the plenipotentiary representative of the Naryn Region, a project to establish a logistics centre on the site of the building is under consideration.

It is envisaged that the centre will become a key hub for the storage, processing and supply of the region’s agricultural produce, which will improve the efficiency of product distribution and support local producers.
