02/22/2025, 09:00The design capacity of all 498 irrigation reservoirs is 1.8 billion cubic meters, currently the volume of accumulated water is 1.5 billion cubic meters, which is 41 million cubic meters higher than last year.
In 2025, it is planned to provide 1 million 22 thousand hectares of irrigated land with 7.4 billion cubic meters of water for irrigation on average 4-5 times. In order to regulate the water deficit in the irrigation period of 2025, in 2024 the Ministry carried out restoration work on 626 kilometers of inter-farm canals. Of these, 93.3 kilometers are repairs, 32.7 km are concreting.
Also, mechanical cleaning was carried out on 500 kilometers of canals, 596 hydraulic structures, 250 water metering posts, 115 pumping stations were repaired. In addition, repairs were carried out on 221 pumping units, 30 pumping units were modernized, and repair work was also carried out on 11 water intake structures.
Cleaning work is being carried out on 150 kilometers of the collector and drainage network, and work has been organized on 1,484 hectares of irrigated areas in order to switch to drip and rain irrigation. In preparation for the 2025 irrigation season, 51 units of various excavators, 11 units of bulldozers, 8 units of truck cranes, 42 units of heavy trucks, 40 units of passenger cars and 51 units of frontal loaders are in operation.
