The ministry notes that on May 16, members of the working group carried out work to determine the area and contours of pastures overgrown with weeds in the Suusamyr Valley.
Caragana, also known as yellow acacia, can interfere with grazing due to its thorns. Small livestock, especially young animals, can get tangled in the thorns and injure themselves, making it difficult or impossible to move through the caragana thickets. In addition, dense thickets of caragana can physically hinder access to other plants that are more preferred for grazing.
A total of 2,000 hectares of pasture land is planned to be cleared.
