The Cabinet discussed the implementation of investment projects in the energy sector for more than 10,000 MW

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliyev, held a meeting dedicated to the progress of investment agreements in the energy sector approved by the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting, held online and via video link, was attended by the heads of more than 15 companies that are already constructing or are in the process of launching solar, wind, hydroelectric and thermal power plants in the country.

During the discussion, the implementation of 12 investment agreements on the construction of solar and wind power plants using renewable energy sources was considered. The total installed capacity of these facilities is 5,450 MW. The implementation of the projects started in 2023.

The implementation of three agreements on the construction of hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 2,239 MW and three agreements on the construction of thermal power plants with a capacity of 2,685 MW were also discussed.

Together with business representatives, the parties discussed the work done, emerging problems and possible ways to solve them. Adylbek Kasymaliyev noted the significant contribution of investors to the development of the energy sector and the country's economy, emphasising the need for responsible and timely fulfilment of obligations under previously concluded agreements.

In addition, it was noted that against the backdrop of growing demand for electricity, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is ready for continuous and open cooperation with entrepreneurs interested in implementing new energy projects.
