08/10/2026, 12:19Nurdаn Oruntaev, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services, visited the Issyk-Kul region on a working trip to inspect the progress of construction of a modern sports complex in the Kashka-Suu neighbourhood of Karakol.
The project, covering a total area of 12 hectares, is being implemented by the Ministry of Construction and is aimed at developing sports infrastructure. The project includes the construction of a sports boarding school with 275 places, a multi-purpose sports complex meeting international standards with a capacity of 5,000, an Olympic-standard swimming pool and a hotel with 200 rooms.

During the inspection, the Minister emphasised the importance of the quality of the work being carried out and instructed that construction be completed within the set deadlines, whilst ensuring strict compliance with building regulations and technical requirements.
Work is currently underway at the site on laying the foundations and preparing the reinforced concrete structures. Reinforcement of the hotel’s foundation beams and the restaurant’s columns is continuing. Earthworks have begun on the site where the swimming pool will be located.
The project will create the necessary conditions for training athletes, holding training camps and hosting international-level competitions. Construction of the facility is being carried out under the supervision of the state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzkurulush’.
