10/04/2024, 13:38Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has signed laws aimed at organizing the traffic of certain types of transport and digitalising road safety. The changes affect several legislative acts, including the Criminal Code and the Law on Road Traffic.
Among the innovations are the mandatory state registration of all mopeds and introducing concept of ‘average speed’, which will be calculated automatically on certain road sections. These measures are aimed at reducing the number of accidents related to speeding.
In addition, persons prosecuted for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to take driving licence examinations for 7-8 years.
