02/12/2026, 17:00Kyrgyzstan is implementing projects to improve air quality totaling $60 million, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources at the end of 2025.
With the support of the World Bank, a $50 million project is being implemented, and another $10 million has been allocated by KOICA as part of the “Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic” program.
Restrictions on the use of low-quality coal have been introduced in Bishkek and the Chui region. In 2025, concepts of environmental safety and carbon neutrality were also approved.
