05/13/2026, 15:05Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev chaired a meeting on the development of inter-regional student mobility and the construction of student halls of residence.
Gulzat Isamatova, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation, presented the programme for inter-regional student mobility in Kyrgyzstan. The total number of places allocated under the inter-regional mobility programme will be 8,000. Under the programme, there are plans to build nine halls of residence in five regions of the country and in the cities of Bishkek and Osh, providing over 7,000 places.
During the meeting, issues relating to the implementation of the programme, funding and the creation of the necessary infrastructure for students were discussed.
As noted, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation, in conjunction with the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Communal Services, has carried out preparatory work for the construction of student halls of residence, identified land plots, completed engineering and survey work, and developed preliminary design and architectural solutions.
During the meeting, issues regarding the granting of greater autonomy to higher vocational education institutions and the introduction of education loans were also discussed. Following the meeting, a number of instructions were issued to the relevant government bodies.
