03/05/2026, 12:19Kyrgyzstan continues to work on expanding economic opportunities for women, strengthening social protection, and increasing their involvement in public and economic life. This was announced on March 5 by Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Security, and Migration Ainura Orozbaeva, speaking at the 6th annual opening ceremony of the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange's Ring the Bell for Gender Equality trading session.
The event is organized by the Kyrgyz Stock Exchange in conjunction with UN Women and is timed to coincide with International Women's Day. Its purpose is to draw attention to issues of gender equality and the role of women in the economy.
According to Orozbaeva, one of the key areas of work of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration is to support various groups of women—rural women, women with disabilities, young women, migrant women, and women entrepreneurs.
“Our task is to consistently promote measures to strengthen social protection, expand access to employment, and ensure decent work for women,” she said.
The deputy minister emphasized that the state also pays attention to the prevention of violence, support for women's entrepreneurship, and increasing social inclusion. An important area of focus remains raising women's legal awareness and improving their access to social support measures.
According to her, work in this area is being carried out in conjunction with a number of state bodies, including the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other agencies, as well as with the support of international partners.
Ainura Orozbaeva separately noted the need for more active involvement of women with disabilities in economic and social life, stressing that it is important for them to create additional opportunities for employment and social fulfillment.
“Today's symbolic bell ringing (author's note — striking the gong to mark the opening of trading) reminds us that we must continue to move towards a society where every woman and every girl has equal rights and opportunities,” she said.
According to her, not only legislative initiatives are important for achieving these goals, but also practical implementation mechanisms, institutional reforms, and targeted support for vulnerable groups of the population.
In conclusion, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the main task remains to build an inclusive society where no one is left behind and every woman and girl can feel safe and realize her potential.
