Kyrgyzstan has simplified the process for extending financial aid to students who have lost a primary breadwinner

Students in Kyrgyzstan no longer need to collect paper certificates from their schools every year to renew their pensions and benefits for the loss of a breadwinner. The procedure has been digitized, and verifying the information now takes 1–2 minutes.

These changes were implemented as part of the 100-day “Government Accelerators” program.

Previously, students aged 16 to 25 had to obtain a certificate confirming their enrollment every year and submit it themselves to the Social Fund and the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration. Failure to submit documents on time could result in the suspension of social benefits.

Now, the necessary information is verified using a personal identification number (PIN) through government information systems. In-person visits to government agencies and the collection of paper documentation are no longer required for this procedure.

The reform has affected approximately 18,500 people. The transition to electronic verification is expected to reduce bureaucratic procedures, costs, and the time spent by citizens, as well as lower the risk of document forgery and data processing errors.
