Work continues in Kyrgyzstan to develop the oil industry. This was announced at a meeting of the Ministry of Energy's board on the results of activities for 2025, which took place on 23 January 2026.

The state-owned enterprise KyrgyzTransneftegaz, in conjunction with OJSC Kyrgyz-Turkish k-Neftegaz, carried out repair and preparatory work on 22 oil wells. As part of the work, topographical surveys were carried out, power lines were laid, and geophysical surveys were conducted at nine wells in the Severny Sokh and Chongara Galcha fields.

At the same time, construction of an oil refinery continues in the Kadamjay district of the Batken region. The plant's design capacity will be 500 tonnes per day. The launch of the plant is expected to create between 150 and 250 jobs.
