10/02/2024, 10:24The official launch of the fuel labelling system using a molecular marker took place at the oil depot in Kant City.
The event was attended by representatives of the State Tax Service and the fuel labelling operator OJSC ‘Uchkun’.
At the presentation, the participants were demonstrated the labelling process with molecular marker usage and identification of unlabelled fuel. The specialists spoke about the key advantages of this technology.
The State Tax Service notes that from 1 October 2024 in Kyrgyzstan, mandatory marking of petrol and diesel fuel, both imported and produced, with molecular marker usage is being introduced. At the same time, from 1 January 2025, the circulation of unmarked petrol and diesel fuel will be prohibited.
The molecular marker used in the labelling system is a unique compound that penetrates the fuel structure and is not subject to leaching. The presence of the marker is checked using special devices certified for compliance with all requirements.
The introduction of this system will make it possible to effectively combat the illegal turnover of fuels and lubricants and improve the quality of fuel on the market.
This method of marking is successfully used in several countries, which helps to prevent smuggling, illegal sale of petroleum products and manipulation of fuel quality and volumes.
Fuel labelling will ensure transparent accounting of fuel production and import volumes, create conditions for fair competition, protect consumers from counterfeit products, and improve the administration of excise tax on fuels and lubricants and increase tax revenues to the country's budget.
