Over 23,000 traffic offences detected in Kyrgyzstan in one week

The Ministry of the Interior’s Main Directorate for Road Safety detected 23,179 breaches of the Highway Code between 24 and 30 July 2026. These figures are based on preliminary reports from traffic inspectors.

Among the violations recorded were:

  • 788 cases of driving without the required documents;
  • 395 cases of drink-driving;
  • 240 cases of illegally tinted car windows;
  • 803 traffic offences involving pedestrians;
  • 4,793 breaches of vehicle operating regulations;
  • 25 cases of reckless driving;
  • 1,500 instances of speeding;
  • 10 cases of driving vehicles with forged number plates.

In addition, officers from the Main Directorate for Traffic Police identified 11,461 breaches of other provisions of the Highway Code.

A total of 3,164 vehicles were impounded for various offences.

The Main Directorate of Traffic Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has called on drivers and pedestrians to observe the Highway Code, to be vigilant on the roads and to act responsibly with regard to the safety of all road users.
