12/02/2025, 12:52Starting December 1, organizations that make money transfers in Kyrgyzstan in Russian rubles have been granted the right to charge a commission of up to 1.5% of the transfer amount from the recipient. This was announced on its official website by Astrasend, the largest money transfer operator in the republic.
It is specified that this commission is not a transfer fee, but an additional service charge from the paying organization.
In this regard, senders and recipients of transfers in Russian rubles are advised to take into account possible additional costs when choosing a transfer method.
“Transfers in US dollars are still available without any fees on the payout side,” the company emphasized.
We would like to add that, according to the results of the second quarter of the year, Astrasend became the largest money transfer operator in Kyrgyzstan. The system processed 2.2 million incoming transactions worth 43.1 billion KGS. This accounts for more than half of all incoming transfers received by the country during the period in question (82.5 billion KGS in total).
Thus, Astrasend quickly overtook the traditional leaders — Zolotaya Korona, Unistream, and Western Union — and captured a key share of the market. Astrasend is operated by the Russian bank AO KB Sokolovsky.
