Two hectares of pastureland in the Naryn Region were illegally privatised

In the Jumgal District of the Naryn Region, an illegal transfer of two hectares of pastureland to private ownership was uncovered. The court declared the transaction invalid and returned the land in full to the state.

The Naryn Regional Office of the Land and Water Supervision Service uncovered the illegal privatisation of agricultural land. The case concerns 2 hectares of haymaking land within an internal pasture, located within plot No. 2516 in the ‘Karazheek’ section of the Bayzak Aiyl Aymak in the Jumgal District.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the plot was transferred to private ownership on the basis of a sale and purchase agreement concluded back in 2006. However, an investigation revealed that the transaction had been carried out in breach of the law.

The case was referred to court, where the claim by the Land and Water Supervision Service was upheld in full. The Jumgal District Court declared the sale and purchase agreement invalid.

As a result, the disputed plot of 2 hectares has been fully returned to state ownership.
