08/11/2026, 15:12An investigation carried out by the Osh Regional Prosecutor’s Office has established that officials at the Nookat Regional Electricity Distribution Company, a branch of OJSC ‘National Electricity Grid of Kyrgyzstan’ — the Osh Electricity Network Enterprise — had abused their official positions in 2025 to falsify electricity consumption figures for budgetary institutions in eight aiyl okmots of the district and drawn up unlawful documents.
These documents recorded an additional 1,218,365 kWh of electricity that had not in fact been consumed by the state-funded institutions.
As a result, the state suffered losses amounting to 4,826,127 KGS.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated criminal proceedings in relation to this matter under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (abuse of official position). Investigative proceedings are currently underway.
